Ditching Expectations

Marea Colombo (NZ) and Abby Howells (NZ)

In this workshop we will explore the expectations we place on ourselves and others when we improvise and ask the question, “in what ways do we limit ourselves and other players in practice and performance?” As we move from the theoretical to the practical, we complete exercises and scene work with the focus of being in the moment and responding to the other player(s) in front of us.

Marea Colombo

Marea is the current General Manager of Improsaurus, a long-form troupe based in Dunedin. Originally from Dunedin, Marea studied overseas and discovered the joys of improvising when she returned home from University. In addition to Improvising, Marea has spent the majority of the past three years completing post graduate study, scuba diving, and eating pizza.
